Accessibility

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion

At the Sanctuary Hotel, accessibility, diversity and inclusion are important values that affect everything we do. Whether you use a screen reader, voice recognition software or another kind of assistive technology, we want The Sanctuary Hotel to be your one-stop-shop for all your travel. From booking to check in and everything in between, we’re making it easy to navigate our site and find exactly what you need.

The Sanctuary Hotel (sometimes hereinafter referred to as “Hotel”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is dedicated to providing exceptional service for all of our guests, including individuals with disabilities.  With respect to our Hotel’s websites, we strive to provide digital content that is accessible to all users.

We base our website accessibility standards on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, level A + AA success criteria.  In addition, we are actively working to maintain, assess and improve the usability and accessibility of our websites, including through training of our personnel, engagement of experts and regular testing of our digital accessibility.

Accomplishing accessibility goals

We set our web accessibility standards high and are working to achieve them. Our team is dedicated to ensure our site meets all laws and guidelines and creates a useable experience for all customers. We are continuously educating ourselves and learning through training sessions with advocacy groups, industry partners and more.

How our site is changing

Here are some of the things we’re doing to make our site easy to use for everyone:

Improving site structure

We're working to edit every page to include appropriate headings, lists, paragraphs and other formatting for better usability with assistive technology.

Adding text equivalents

We’re adding alternative text, captions and transcripts to images and videos so users who can't see or hear have a text equivalent to interact with.

Building for full keyboard access

We are developing new pages with keyboard accessibility in mind so that users can easily tab through a page to find the content they need.

Creating site consistency

We are created templates for our site to ensure consistency. Once you’re familiar with how our pages and menus work, you can expect similar functionality across the site, each time you visit.

If you are experience any difficulty accessing or navigating the websites or have any accessibility-related questions or comments, please call 212.234.7000  for assistance.
